The Persona Acting™ course runs every Saturday for 10 weeks in Brighton (11am-2pm). The course is for beginners and professionals alike and limited to 16 places.
Michael D'Cruze will be your director for most of the course and we'll have some guest teachers along the way, Sound Designer and Deputy Editor of 3Sixty Magazine, Torsten Højer will record the voice over for you and Brighton based actress, Lucinda Cowden will be directing your soap opera scenes. You will film a television commercial, a scene from a soap, record a radio ad, work as an ensemble and spout Shakespeare like it's a modern language. You will also have the opportunity to perform in a showcase!





1The stage; acting techniques: Where and how to stand. Entrances and exits. Who does what, when and where?
Theatre jargon.

2The body; understand the physical aspects of characterisation, includes body language / emotional response /
physical reaction.

3The voice; projection, articulation, support and control, basic voice over and radio technique (includes recording a
radio advert with Sound Designer, Torsten Højer).

4The psychology; what makes a character react or respond in a specific way? Includes character analysis /
emotional and psychological response using simple modern scripts.

5The mind; release our imagination. Includes improvisation / mime / film technique / green screen.

6Ensemble work; working as a group on a contemporary script. Includes group improvisation / concentration / give
and take / the art of stillness.

7Shakespeare; a workshop designed to make Shakespeare both understood and enjoyed in the 21st Century.
Working on well known Shakespearian scenes in a fun and modern way.

8Television acting technique, the basics and TV Ads; includes the different shots / hitting your mark / ident for
camera / the audition process / filming and viewing of an ident and TV advert.

9Television acting technique, drama series and soaps; understand acting in drama and soap operas,
rehearsing / filming / watching / analysing / re-shooting scenes with Brighton based actress Lucinda Cowden.

10Theatre direction and stagecraft; a chance to be directed on prepared monologues and scenes using all the
elements from the course. Culminating in a showcase performance.
