Do you think you've got what it takes to be an actor? Do you want to learn some new skills? Improve on your old ones!? Whether you're a beginner, already in the business or just plain curious, read on and let us tempt you to join our unique course.Over the 10 week course we will look at how to prepare for a role, how to use your mind, body and voice to create a character, how to get work, the do's and don'ts during the audition process and some insider top tips!! We can't guarantee you the next lead role in the West End or a part in EastEnders but I can tell you what you'll need to do to get there. You'll learn loads, have great fun and meet like minded people.We'll cover a number of disciplines, from Shakespeare's Hamlet (the moody bloody one!) and Macbeth (the spooky bloody one!), to television soaps plus contemporary plays like Unidentified Human Remains and Friends Like Us.You will film a television commercial, a scene from a soap, record a radio ad, work as an ensemble and speak Shakespeare like it's a modern language. You will also have the opportunity to perform in a showcase!! We will give you as much insight, information as possible so that whether you do have ambitions do be a professional actor, need a confidence boost, or you've just always been curious to find out if you've got what it takes to go professional then this may help you make that transition.We're going to do a lot in a short space of time, you'll need to have your brain in gear for the whole course. Be prepared to act in front of each other from the first hour of the course! Oh, and you'll have to pretend to be a chimpanzee too, we do that in the first 10 minutes just to get it out of the way!
